Come as you are.
We’ll start there.
Warm, down to earth online therapy for adults throughout Illinois navigating eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, relationships, life transitions, and the complicated business of being human.
What brings you here?
Eating Disorders
For a more peaceful relationship with food and your body.
Trauma and PTSD
When the past keeps showing up in the present.
Anxiety
Your brain has 37 tabs open and at least three of them are playing music.
And Everything Else
Because life doesn’t always fit neatly into a box.
Therapy doesn’t have to
feel clinical to be good therapy.
You can laugh in therapy.
You can swear in therapy.
You can cry.
You can bring your dog.
You can be messy.
You can be you.
Good therapy is more than just talking about it.
There isn’t one right way to do therapy. That’s why our therapists draw from evidence-based approaches based on who you are, what you’re struggling with, and what actually helps.
DBT
Practical skills for managing overwhelming emotions, navigating relationships, tolerating difficult moments, and building a life you want to be present for.
EMDR
A trauma treatment designed to help your brain process experiences that still feel stuck - even when you know they’re over.
ACT
Learning how to make room for difficult thoughts and emotions without letting them run your life - and reconnecting with what actually matters to you.
Somatic Therapy
It’s not just in your head. Anxiety and stress also live in the body. Somatic therapy helps you attend to those signals instead of ignoring them. Healing happens in the body, too.
Meet the Hive.
Find someone you can actually imagine talking to.
Training matters. Experience matters. Clinical skills matter. But there’s something else that matters, too. Do you like your therapist?

A few things you might be wondering
-
Yes! Most Honeybee and Hive Counseling sessions are provided virtually throughout Illinois.
You can meet with your therapist from home, your office, or another private place where you feel comfortable. No commute, no parking, no waiting room, and yes, pets wandering into sessions are completely welcome!
-
Yes. We are in network with several insurance plans including BCBS PPO, Aetna PPO, Optum/United PPO, Cigna PPO, and ChampVA.
Because insurance varies by plan, we recommend confirming your individual mental health benefits directly with your insurance company.
-
Your cost depends on if you are using insurance, your individual policy, or private pay. Private pay costs $200 per 53 minute session.
-
Tell us a little about what you’re looking for, what you’d like help with, and what matters to you in a therapist. We’ll help you determine which therapist might be the best fit.
And because the relationship with your therapist matters, we want you to find someone you can actually imagine talking to.
-
That’s completely okay. There’s nothing you need to study, prepare, or figure out before your first appointment.
Your therapist will guide the conversation, get to know you, and talk with you about what brought you to therapy and what you’d like to be different.
You don’t have to know what to say.
That’s what first sessions are for.
-
You don’t need a diagnosis, or even the right words, to come to therapy.
Maybe you’re anxious. Maybe you’re exhausted. Maybe you’re having a hard time in a relationship. Maybe you don’t feel like yourself lately.
Or maybe all you know is that something isn’t working.
That’s enough.
We can start there.
